Using Knowledge Representations on a Large Scale
Semantic representations coupled with natural language processing offer many possibilities for new and powerful software applications.
- Superior Intelligence
- Flexibility and ease of maintenance
- Industry-specific concepts and knowledge
- A new way to integrate data and applications
With the growing adoption of XML and the attendant need to match meanings across different vocabularies, semantic technology becomes critical. The Problem
When knowledge applications become complex, like knowledge management in life sciences, a critical challenge emerges. Storing knowledge representations in conventional databases can lead to slow applications. The concept+relationship combinations are usually stored separately, and produce complex retrieval requests with billions of combinations. A new technology was called for, and Jarg responded with Jarg Index Server, a new way to store and retrieve knowledge in its native form of concept+relationship.
Jarg has implemented this rapid retrieval mechanism in the Jarg indexing and knowledge assembly and integration products.
